Fencing
What the work involves.
We make fence repair or replacement simple, with solutions that suit your yard, built with durable materials.
Most fences in the neighborhoods around Lewisville are six foot wood privacy fences, and most of them fail the same way. Posts set in the ground rot or loosen at soil level, the expansive clay heaves them out of line as it swells and shrinks, and a strong gust takes down a whole section that was already leaning. Pickets split and warp in the sun, and the bottom rails rot where sprinklers keep them wet.

The Difference
What to know before you decide.
Repair makes sense when the posts are sound and the damage is limited to pickets, a rail or a single section. When posts are failing along the length of a fence, replacing sections one at a time tends to chase the problem around the yard, and a full replacement with new posts set properly is usually the better spend.
Wind damaged fences are sometimes covered by homeowner insurance as other structures, and hail damage to a fence is often noted on the same claim as the roof. A new wood fence also lasts much longer when it is stained within its first year, which we do as well.

Fencing, answered.
Is a fence blown down by wind covered by insurance?
Many homeowner policies cover fences as other structures when a storm damages them, subject to the deductible. Rot and age are not covered.
Should I repair or replace my fence?
Repair when the posts are solid and the damage is limited. Replace when posts are loose or rotting along much of the fence.
How long does a wood fence last in North Texas?
Commonly 15 to 20 years for a well built cedar fence that is stained regularly, less for untreated pine or fences kept wet by sprinklers.
