Gutters
What the work involves.
Gutters and downspouts are essential for managing water flow, preventing structural damage, and protecting your foundation. A roof sheds a remarkable amount of water: an inch of rain on 2,000 square feet of roof is about 1,200 gallons, and without gutters all of it lands in a line along the base of the house.
That matters more in North Texas than almost anywhere. The expansive clay under Lewisville swells when it gets wet and shrinks when it dries. Water dumped at the same spot along the slab every storm keeps that section of soil swinging between the two, and uneven movement under a slab foundation is what cracks drywall, sticks doors and opens gaps in brick. Downspouts that carry water several feet from the house are one of the cheapest pieces of foundation protection there is.

The Difference
What to know before you decide.
Hail and ice storms are hard on gutters. Aluminum dents easily, a dented gutter holds water in low spots, and seams that separate drip onto the fascia board until it rots. A heavy ice storm can pull a run of gutter off the fascia entirely. Gutter damage is often part of a hail claim alongside the roof, and when the roof is being replaced it is the right time to replace them too.
Sizing is where many gutter jobs go wrong. Five inch gutters are standard on most homes, but long roof runs, steep pitches and valleys that dump water at one corner can overwhelm them in a Texas downpour. Six inch gutters with larger downspouts carry considerably more water and are worth it where the roof concentrates flow. The number and placement of downspouts matter as much as the gutter size.
We install gutters and downspouts, repair and replace damaged runs, and match new sections to existing gutters when only part of a system needs replacing. We also clean gutters and install gutter screens, which have their own page.

How much do new gutters cost?
Seamless aluminum gutters in North Texas commonly run roughly $8 to $15 per linear foot installed, with downspouts, six inch sizing and two story work at the higher end. Most homes need somewhere between 120 and 200 feet. The free estimate gives you the number for yours.
Are hail-damaged gutters covered by insurance?
Often, yes. Dented gutters and downspouts are covered storm damage under most homeowner policies, and they are commonly included on the same claim as the roof.
Five inch or six inch gutters?
Five inch suits most single story homes with average roof runs. Six inch is worth it on large or steep roofs, long runs, and corners where valleys concentrate water, because a Texas downpour overwhelms undersized gutters quickly.
Can you replace just one damaged section?
Yes. A damaged run can be replaced and matched to the existing gutters, which is common after an ice storm pulls part of a system loose.
